Hi! I'm Gerd Walter

with some of my music-and-computer-students!

I'm teacher for music and ethics here at the Caecilien High-School in Oldenburg. I live near Oldenburg with my wife, my daughter and our cat Jackie. My favourite holiday-village is Kühlungsborn. a german seaside-resort near Lübeck and Rostock/Warnemünde.

I like any good music of all kinds.
A little much more I like The Beatles, Blues, Rhythm 'n Blues, Rock 'n Roll and Bruce Springsteen.
I like to hear Hard Rock and Heavy Metal, too. My favourite Band in this genre is IRON MAIDEN. I have great respect before Leonard Bernstein, because of his competence in classical music and Jazz.

Over 10 years I played keyboards in a Soulband (14 musicians) called COALTRAIN. We recorded several LP's and CD's with this band.

Over 20 years I'm Blues&Boogie piano-player and singer. Together with a drummer I did live-gigs in Germany under the name: THE-GOOD-OLD-BOOGIE-BLUES-PIANO-DUO

Since 2004 I´m keyboarder in the Hard Rock and Classic Rock Band ROCKFIRE. I play piano, Synthesizer and mainly Hammond Organ. My Organ Style was influenced by Jon Lord (Deep Purple) and Ken Hensley (Uriah Heep).

In 1992 together with my friend Wolfgang Reinfeldt, who is informatic-teacher at the Caecilienschule, we founded the

TELECOMMUNICATION AND MUSIC-WORKSHOP at our school.
Since that day we lead through several projects.

My part is the

ICC-Project
International Music Composition Project

with composition-partners all over the world.

Between 1999 and 2000 I was Coordinator for Music at the German-School-Server "SCHULEN ANS NETZ".
